- Transavia
The Costa Del Sol is a wonderful place to holiday. Every year several thousand Danes travel come to Andalucía. A well known fact is that the Costa Del Sol has at least 320 days of sunshine a year ( from living here we at Danskbiljudlining can confirm that fact! ) Apart from the local cuisine and sights we believe this is the main reason why people keep coming back! You can not beat a good holiday in the sunshine.
The sun is not the only attraction to the Costa Del Sol. We have beautiful countryside and mountains with amazing views. You can Ski in the Sierra Nevada (150 km away) during the Skiing season. It is the most southerly place in Europe that you can Ski! Or you could chose to go to Granada which has such sights as the world famous Alhambra Palace which has been designated a Common Cultural Legacy by UNESCO.
Another recommended excursion is a day trip to Gibraltar (100 km away) here you can see the famous Barbary Apes or just to experience the British way of life in the Sun!
Ronda is also situated not far away, there you can experience all the charm of Spanish life. It has astonishing surroundings and a famous bridge which overlooks a huge valley. Earnest Hemmingway spent time here.
Of course the number one attraction are the beaches and almost all of the visitors to the Costa Del Sol spend most of their time on the beach to make the most of their time in the sun.
To the west of Malaga you will find Marbella where the Jet Set holiday in Puerto Banus. There you will see huge extravagant yachts and million Euro cars!! To the east you will find Nerja which has incredibly clean beaches with clear waters and the biggest caves in Europe with Stalagmites and Stalactites.
Malaga city deserves a visit also. On offer to see are a Cathedral and the grand Castles Gibralfaro and Alcazaba. Easter time in Malaga is a time of many festivities. With the local Catholic tradition you will see impressive parades. Also there is a Feria, which is basically a big party where everybody gets together to celebrate and experience the good food and watch the traditional flamenco.
